Highlights of Ngorongoro Conservation Area & Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the "Eighth Wonder of the World," is one of Tanzania's most iconic destinations. Located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, this vast, unbroken caldera is the largest of its kind and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crater is home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife, offering visitors a chance to witness the "Big Five" — lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino — all in one day. Its stunning landscapes, from grassy plains and acacia forests to sparkling soda lakes, provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable safari. Ngorongoro is not just about wildlife; it also holds significant cultural and historical importance as the home of the Maasai people and the site of Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world.
