Tour Itinerary: What to Expect on Your Combo Package

Day 0: Arrival in Moshi

Your adventure begins with your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you’ll be met by our team and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. In the evening, you’ll meet your experienced mountain guide for a detailed trek briefing, final gear check, and packing recommendations. This is also your last chance to rent any missing gear before the climb. Overnight at a comfortable hotel in Moshi.

Day 1: Moshi/Arusha – Londorossi Gate (2,100m) – Big Tree Camp (2,850m)

After breakfast, we drive to Londorossi Gate for registration before heading to the trailhead at Lemosho Glades. The trek starts in dense rainforest, where you’ll see ancient trees, exotic birds, and possibly colobus monkeys. The 6km trek to Big Tree Camp takes about 3–4 hours.

Day 2: Big Tree Camp – Shira 1 Camp (3,505m)

Leaving the rainforest, we enter the heath and moorland zone, with open vistas and rolling hills. The climb is steady but gradual, and as we gain altitude, you’ll begin to feel the effects of thinner air. The 8km trek to Shira 1 Camp takes about 5–6 hours.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp – Shira 2 Camp (3,840m)

Today is an easier trek across the Shira Plateau, one of the most scenic sections of the trek. This high-altitude desert landscape provides incredible views of Mount Meru and Kibo Peak. The gradual ascent to Shira 2 Camp (8km, 3-4 hours) allows for additional acclimatization.

Day 4: Shira 2 Camp – Lava Tower (4,630m) – Barranco Camp (3,976m)

A crucial acclimatization day, this route follows a "climb high, sleep low" approach. We trek to Lava Tower (4,630m), where we pause for lunch and acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp. The 10km hike (6-7 hours) offers breathtaking views.

Day 5: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp (3,995m)

We start the day with an exciting climb up the Barranco Wall, a non-technical but steep section that rewards you with stunning views. Afterward, the trail continues through valleys and ridges to Karanga Camp, where we rest for the night.

  • Accommodation: Karanga Camp

Day 6: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp (4,673m)

Today's short but steep trek leads to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. You’ll have an early dinner and rest before beginning the midnight summit push.

  • Trekking Distance: 4km (~3-4 hours)
  • Accommodation: Barafu Camp

Day 7: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Mweka Camp (3,100m)

Summit day begins at midnight! We ascend in the dark, reaching Stella Point (5,756m) at sunrise before continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the summit, we descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing to Mweka Camp. This long day covers about 16km in 12–14 hours.

Day 8: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate (1,640m) – Moshi Town

A final descent through the forest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificate. Transfer back to Moshi town for a well-deserved rest.

  • Meals Included : Breakfast and Lunch. Dinner is not included.
  • Trekking Distance: 10km (~4-5 hours)
  • Overnight Moshi : Stella Maris Executive Lodge

Day 9: Fly to Zanzibar Island – Stone Town Tour

After leisurely breakfast at your lodge it is time to head to the airport (Kilimanjaro International airport) where you will catch your flight to Zanzibar Island. On arrival at Zanzibar airport you will be picked up from the airport for your transfer to Zanzibar Stone Town, the old city and cultural heart of Zanzibar. This place had minimal change in the last 200 years hence your chance to experience its well-preserved heritage and exotic antiquity. You will stay at Tembo House Hotel equipped with a swimming pool among other amenities such as WiFi and television.

Day 10: Safari Blue Tour and Evening Sunset cruise

Begin your day swimming alongside wild dolphins in their natural habitat. Then, immerse yourself in snorkeling adventures in the pristine waters near Mnemba Island. On board, you'll be provided with snorkeling gear, including masks and flippers, as well as refreshing fruits, soft drinks, and snacks to keep you energized throughout the tour. This tour departs at 08:30 am and concludes by 01:00 pm, ensuring you have ample time to explore the marine wonders and create lasting memories during your stay in the paradise islands of Zanzibar.


Evening of day: *Sunset Cruise from 16:00 to 18:30 as part of your combo package, aboard a traditional wooden Dowh: Enjoy a shared experience sailing around Nungwi shores. Indulge in fresh fruits 🍒, mineral water, and local drum music for dancing and entertainment

Day 11 - 12: Stay at Kendwa Beach

Kendwa beach is the perfect place to unwind with a good book and a glass of your favorite beverage. This is also a haven for underwater lovers as you can also enjoy a day of snorkeling or scuba diving. Indeed, a place to relax for all type of travelers.

Day 13: Departure – Flight Home

After breakfast at the lodge and depending on your departure schedule we transfer you to Zanzibar airport to catch you flight back home with Great memories of your adventure in Tanzania.
